Canadian Cervid Alliance

The CCA is a Canadian Not-For-Profit Corporation representing Canadian cervid producers.

Our primary role is to facilitate the domestic and international advancement of a profitable and environmentally sustainable Canadian cervid industry which is both conscientious and responsible.

We accomplish this by:

  • Providing leadership and advancing industry opportunities
  • Working with government agencies to expand opportunity
  • Responding to and anticipating emerging issues   

 

CCA Board of Directors

The CCA Board of Directors is made up of representatives from cervid Industry organizations in Canada as well as 1 member from the North American Elk Breeders Association. 

The CCA Board meets monthly via ZOOM virtual meetings and in person as many times as possible.

What the Canadian Cervid Alliance
Does For Its Members

  • We encourage, advance, improve and protect the industry of cervid farming and ranching in Canada.

  • We represent the industry in discussions and negotiations regarding national and international issues affecting the animal health management of farmed and ranched cervids in Canada, including but not restricted to protocols for movement into and throughout Canada, the National Animal Health Program, and the requirements of the Health of Animals Act.
  • We represent the cervid industry on issues of national and international trade. Where appropriate to represent the cervid industry on issues of market development provincially, nationally and internationally. 
  • We partner with government, non-government and trade associations to this end where and when appropriate.
  • We provide the general public a starting point for resolving cervid-related concerns.
  • Provide a forum for sharing best practices in cervid management.
